I am searching for my lost uncle. He was born Albert Jess Martin. He went by the name Johnny. His birth parents were Vera Ellen Lockhart and Gordon Albert Martin. He had two younger sisters, Rita Suzanne and LeAnna Jean. The three children were separated around 1949. The two sisters were reunited as adults. They also found their birth father (now deceased). The Martin children were brought to an orphanage in Fort Wayne, Indiana on 31 Dec 1948 and were held on a temporary contingency until 18 Jan 1949. The orphanage had a German name and was operated by local chapters of the Lutheran Church and received support from Red Feather (similar to the United Way). The orphanage was closed within the year. After the orphanage closed, many of the children were transferred to Indianapolis, so there is a chance Johnny was moved there at that time.
