I am looking for my cousin. We believe that he was born in Indianapolis. The adoption was supposedly coordinated through The Suemma Coleman Home in Indianapolis, IN. We believe his mother was admitted on 1/2/1971 to the Home, and discharged 2/14/1971. We know a Dr. John R. Melin, OB/GYN and Dr. Charles (Elmer) Geckler were involved in her care. This young man is biracial and was named Michael Shannon by his biological mother. We do not know if that name is what he was officially named. Supposedly the adoptive family lived somewhere on the East Coast and knew our grandparents. Our grandparents have passed and would never give us any details regarding the adoption. I am hoping to find my cousin to help his siblings unite with their brother, and find a cousin whose absence has always left our family with a significant void.
