I am searching for information on my Grandmother born illegitimate (with no Father listed) as "Baby" Mayer 8/18/1912 to Alice Mayer in Fort Wayne, Indiana in Fort Wayne Lutheran Hospital. I have no other information until she was adopted September 14, 1918 by Hoyt and Bessie Hill. The name on her Adoption papers is "Vera Mayer" changed to "Helen Hill." The Board of Children’s Guardians of Allen County Indiana consented to the adoption. I assume she was put in an orphanage at birth, but have no information from her birth to adoption. Would appreciate any information including orphanages she could have been sent to.
