I just found out I was adopted as a newborn. I was born on Sept. 6, 1969, at 6:23 pm in Chicago at Passavant Memorial Hospital (now Northwestern Memorial) to a girl who I’m told was in college and didn’t want her parents to know she was pregnant. My uncle (now deceased) and his Lawyer, Dolores Goldman (of Gary, IN and now deceased) handled the adoption. There is no adoption paperwork that I can find. The birth certificate I have lists Dr. Melvin Gerbie as the doctor who delivered me. I’m searching for any family member because I would like to know where I came from and if I have family out there.
