My son was born Benjamin Michael Patterson on June 28, 1994 at OSF St. Joseph hospital in Bloomington, IL and placed with his chosen parents on or about July 1, 1994, through what was then known as Catholic Social Services. He has two loving parents and an older brother Jamie. We corresponded once or twice a year for some time via the agency, but I didn’t want to overstep, so eventually allowed that to stop. I tried to make it clear that I would welcome correspondence from him once he was old enough to choose on his own, and if and when he chose to contact me, I would be happy to be involved at whatever level he / they were comfortable with.
