Garnet Medus had my father on Nov 23,1931 in Peoria, Il. Garnet named him Richard Lee Medus. He was immediately adopted by Keith and Geneva Williams, who lived in Joliet, IL. They renamed him Dayton Conrad Williams. Dayton is my father and died when he was 46 years old. My dad struggled every day of his life. He tried to find his birth mom several times. He was told that Garnet had been raped and was about 13 years old. My dad always wondered if his birth had ruined her life. She was in a home for unwed mothers. The adoption was through a Lutheran Child and family agency. My brother, sister and I have wondered whether we have family out there.
