My son was b. 03-02-1990 at South Suburban Hospital in Hazelcrest‚ Illinois. Due to Illinois law‚ I got to spend extra time with him at hospital. He met his grandmother and uncle. The adoption was handled by Murray (and Anne) Sims in Flossmoor‚ IL. The adoption was as open as law would allow‚ at the time. I got the opportunity to meet his adoptive parents Tom & Shar. Then exchange pictures until he was 2 years old and letters for the remainder of his life. They planned to raise him to know that he was adopted‚ which made me happy. Shar would be a stay-at-home mom and Tom was an engineer (I think with car company). We exchanged letters for few months and even got some adorable pictures of my boy. He was a big boy and first Halloween was a pumpkin. Unfortunately‚ the letters stopped coming when he was 9 months old. The last photo I have is a mall picture with Santa. I wrote to Tom & Shar and repeatedly contacted lawyers. But to no avail. My heart was broken. It felt like I lost him twice. After a bout with severe depression‚ I had to move to with my life. But not a week goes by that I don’t think about him. Every March 2nd‚ I re-read letters and look at his pictures. It has been over 30 years. I would like to simply know if he’s alive. That he had a good childhood and now has a good life. If I find you‚ Jeffery Keith (Jeffrey Thomas) we can see where fate takes us.
