My mother was adopted, and passed away 16 years ago. I don’t know her birth name. I believe she was born in Litchfield, IL in 1944 (which is what shows on my birth certificate for Mother’s DOB and location). My understanding is that her adopted parents (my grandparents, both deceased) adopted her when she was around 3 years old. I would have no idea where my mother’s birth mother lived or moved to after putting my mother up for adoption. My goal is to find if I have aunts or uncles that may have been brothers or sisters of my mother. Or perhaps she (my mother’s birth mother) may have only had the one child. I have pretty clear lineage of my fathers side since he is still alive and so many of that side of the family are still alive and have shared lineage information with me.
