My father, LAWRENCE STAFLIN, was married two times before his marriage to my mother. One daughter were born of EACH of those marriages. I have located one of my half-sisters and reconnected with her. Now I am searching for my last-half sister, MARYANN ALICE STAFLIN born Sept. 10 or 11, 1940 or 1941. My father married her mother, ALICE M. GABEL, in the summer of 1940. They were divorced and shortly remarried again. I have been informed that the adoption was in 1942 to a childless couple that my Grandmother knew about - possibly in a suburb of Chicago (Villa Park, Round Lake, or ?). I am not sure if the adoption was through the courts or a private one.
