I am reaching out to those. My Grandmother had a child in 1945 as a single woman at the age of 20 in London UK. She was sent to a group home where she gave birth to her daughter birth name Sandra Barbara Catherine Stacey on the 10th of December. Mother and baby stayed together during the early months of breast feeding before a new home was found for the baby. This is a tragic story and one my grandmother never ever spoke about. I found out only last year from another family member about this and having been raised myself by my grandmother I can only assume the memory was simply just too painful for my grandmother to bare. My grandmother would not have had a choice and had she done I know she would have chosen to keep her child. My grandmother truly was one of the most maternal people I have ever known and she had so much love to give. This was part of an overall early tragic lifestory.
