I am trying to establish the identity of my birth father. I traced my mother years ago‚ who declined to reveal my father's identity‚ who was Lebanese. They met in Geneva‚ Switzerland‚ when she was working at the World Health Organisation . I believe he was an engineering Student‚ although I don't know that for sure. They were not together by the time I was born‚ splitting up early in her pregnancy‚ she did not tell her family and arranged my adoption‚ which happened when I was a few weeks old. I traced her around 1997‚ met her twice (she lived in Portugal‚ but visited family in England). She did not tell her husband‚ who she met the year after my birth or her 3 sons of my existence‚ but her brother knew‚ and I kept in touch via him and his wife‚ whom I became close to. She died last year. She was born and is from England. I have had my DNA tested via MyHeritage‚ which confirms my Lebanese ethnicity‚ and I have a relatively close match with someone who may be my first cousin once removed. He is from Lebanon .
