My Mum was adopted by a lady whose maiden name was Carpenter. My Mum was named Jean Holt on her birth certificate by her Mother May Holt formally Langton. She was given up for adoption as her mother, a seamstress couldn’t provide for her as a single mother. Through Ancestry DNA I have found potentially my Mothers Father who was never named on her birth certificate but I would dearly love to find my Mums Mothers family.
