I adopted a son from Guatemala in 2005 through World Child International Adoptions. Later‚ I learned of gross misconduct and seizures of babies in Guatemala. I am searching to see if our adoption was part of this. I was given the following information: Oscar Ariel Rivas Aguilar was born July 11‚ 2005 in the local hospital in Sanarate Guatemala. I believe there was a midwife. At one point‚ they had trouble getting the midwife’s signature‚ she was refusing. He weighed 5lb 1 oz. and has O+ blood type. His mother was listed as Norinda Rivas Aguilar. She was 28 or 29 years old. I believe she was single. I was told Oscar had two older siblings a male and a female. Oscar’s foster mother was Lilian Guadalupe Garcia. He spent the first few months under her care in Guatemala City. His doctor was Dr. Francisco Montiel. The lawyer who facilitated our adoption was Oscar Marquez. We adopted him in early March and returned to the US with him on March 4‚ 2006 as Oscar A Pairitz. His adoptive name is Ethan Oscar Roth Pairitz.
