My mother was adopted by her grandmother her mother was called Jesse Abernethy born 23/06/1921 and her gran was called Ellen Abernethy nee Hough born 1897 who was married to James Abernethy born 1897 married in 1919 and it was always believed they adopted her as Jesse was unmarried eventually married James Foster all are dead now and i want o know if they did actually adopter her
