I didn’t know I had a sister until 2022‚ In looking for you‚ I found another sister‚ so you have one too! Before I had even heard about this story‚ both my mother and father had passed away‚ so I never had a chance to speak to them about this new information. I’m not even sure that my mother knew that my father had a daughter from a previous relationship. The only reason my auntie told us‚ is that she is the only surviving member of paternal family‚ and she thought that we should know. My auntie is now quite elderly‚ and I would so love her to have a chance to say hello to that young baby‚ (her niece) that she had held in her arms when she was about eight years old‚ as my grandmother handed over the money for her upkeep. My auntie has always felt much guilt for not telling us before. I would also like her to be at peace. I was also very happy to hear that I had a sister‚ I would so love to meet her and see how her life had panned out for her. This story only came about because of long lost families. I was chatting to my auntie who I hadn’t seen for a very long time‚ during a family holiday in Wales. Our remarks about how I thought she look like Davina McCall in the early 60s. It was then she said to me out of the blue you do realise you have a sister don’t you. This was the first time I have ever heard about this‚ or at least I think so. My brother who is four years older than me‚ said that when we were Young I always said we had a sister. So I’m wondering if I I must have overheard a conversation when I was very young. All of my auntie to tell me was that when she was about eight years old my grandmother used to take her to this woman to give her some money to look after newborn baby fathered by my dad. It was a family secret‚ and a source of shame on the housing estate where it happens. I believe both my father‚ and my mother were only 15 at the time. But my auntie clearly remembers my grandmother giving her money to look after the baby until it was adopted. We believe it was adopted by someone who is in the salvation army‚ in the Birmingham area. Since then I have tried to make some local searches but to no avail.
