I am an 81 year old woman who was pressurised into giving up my child. I was frightened and did as I was told. I wish I had fought harder and now that I am old I regret so much that I have not found him or him me. Mark was born in Whittington Hospital‚ London‚ when I was living in an unmarried mothers home. He was registered. at the Islington Registry Office. My name at the time was Barbara Jane Gething. I spent 6 weeks at the home and he was given over for adoption to the church of England Adoption Society somewhere in Camden town‚ dressed in the knitwear I made him. It was heart wrenching. I tried to get on with my life and married quite soon after. and have been‚ happily‚ for 60 years but there was always something missing Mark has two half brothers‚ Matthew and Simon‚ and a half sister‚ Kate‚ who are keen to get to know him and have been very supportive in my search. There are 5 grand children too and lots of cousins. More than anything I hope that Mark has had a happy life.
