My mother was adopted at the age of 6 months old. We believe it was done through the church she belonged to. My grandparents never gave us any information and my mother says she does not want to know although she has done some searching but drew a blank. I am estranged from my mother but I want to know where I came from. Also medically it’s important to me. I really hope you can help me. When she was born her birth mother names her Anne Shirley but he adoptive parents changed it to Shirley Anne. Her adoptive parents are called Stanley Hailstone and Joyce Hailstone. My grandfather died a few years ago and my nan is not in great health herself so I’m desperate to find out as soon as possible. Many, many thanks. Debbie Barnes.
