Tracing my mother’s biological father who is not named on her birth certificate 1923. My mother was born Ruth Celest Townsend in Gassiott Road‚ Tooting‚ Wandsworth‚ London. Her mother was Jessie Townsend who placed my mother in a Children’s Home in London in 1925. I have some paperwork of an “adoption” to George and Frances James in Birmingham but it cannot have been an official adoption as there was no new birth certificate ever issued. We did manage to trace the Townsend family but have no idea who my mother’s father was. I have done DNA with Ancestry UK and with 23&me hoping to find some way of searching through a process of elimination but with no luck so far. Sorry for the long message. Thank you for reading.
