I am searching for my father’s birth family members. My Father passed away in 1980 right before my 13th bday and right after he turned 31 in an automobile accident. I got all non-identifying info way back in 1993 and I’ve always regretted that I didn’t pay the extra$300 and get all the info I could. But I was told that if I wanted to pursue this further that I would need to write his birth mother a letter introducing myself etc. But I just couldn’t find it in my heart to tell her that the baby she was forced to give up was no longer with us and there would never be a reunion for them. So I just tried to let it go and move on. But it’s been almost 20 yrs and I still have that need to know and to follow this thru for my Father bc it was something that really bothered him but also bc I would love to meet some new family members bc I don’t really have much family anymore. Here’s the non-identifying info that I have: My Father was born on Jan 16,1948 in Thomasville Ga. He was 11 months old when his adoptive parents brought him home. So I wonder who he was with till then. This is a really sad case that could have turned out so differently. Birth mother was young 15 or 16. Birth father wanted the baby and her. But her mother forced her to give my Father up for adoption. Her mother had issues and had lost custody of her 5 children. Birth father’s family had immigrated here from Greece and owned a plantation in Thomasville Ga.
