To my best Knowledge...I was born in Green County Georgia Jan 1, 1953. My Mothers name Dorothy Mae Wray (maiden name) She has passed her married name Dorothy Mae Dalman. My father’s name (adoption father) Andy Dalman. Still living. Union Point Georgia is where I stayed as an infant initially.with my Mom and Grandparents( my adoptive Father was Airforce. The fact that I WAS adopted by my father Andy legally only came to my attention later as a teen. I actually found papers in a box they kept locked (unlocked that day) seeing the papers stating the adoption facts. I saw My original Name which was Stephen Riley Yost or Yoast (cannot remember) I don’t recall actual dates on that paper. I had no name of my birth father there nor any information other than that above. I also read a letter from my adoptive Father’s Father (my adoptive Grandfather) to my father Andy about responsibility and many things for him to think about and be aware of adopting me when marrying my mother...As a teen, I was, to say the least, shocked but only knew Andy as my ’Father’ all my life. I chose at that moment to NEVER say anything or ask...and never have. I’m 66 now. I have asked one of my father’s sisters, my Aunt, about it with the stipulation she NOT say anything to my parents...she has kept that promise over many years She did confirm it and she only knew that to her knowledge that my birth father was a "teacher" she really knew no more details and was not absolute about that. I have carried this with me for so long for many reasons. The most important, I love my Dad and I loved my Mother dearly all her life. If they felt it was for the best I wasn’t told I accepted that. My father Andy is the best man I know...Raised me to be a responsible self-sufficient man myself I have family children and grand as well as great-grandchildren. He is my hero in every way...My dilemma today is that I WOULD like to know who my birth father is, about him and about his life and family. As I get older I know he may not even be alive he may not have even wanted to know about me or maybe he never did. I have no idea. I did once try to get a copy of my Original Birth certificate from the State of Georgia. I was told, "It was a sealed document". I left it at that I was still young in my 20’s. I still do NOT want my father Andy to know I am looking I’m not sure if he knows I know...my decision was to NEVER ask him. I respect his decision no matter the reason why. I have discussed this with my brother and one sister the other I’m sure knows but we never spoke of it. THEY will never ask him its a respectful position... We all feel we are brothers and sisters equal and loving..and will respect him and his reasoning no matter what it is...It is mainly for my peace of mind nothing else and id like to know about medical history in case there is something I should be aware of... I hope you can help me..and still keep it as private as possible..
