Martin Spitek is the adopted person, His birth name was Martin Josef DeGroen. His Birth Mother’s name is Beatrix DeGroen. He was adopted by Joseph Spitek an American and his wife Margaret who was a British citizen at the time. Martin and his adoptive mother became American citizens at the same time.. Martin was told that he was the first Dutch citizen to be adopted by foreign nationals. His dob is 2/16/1957. I think there may be conflicting information on that fact. His birth mothers name is Beatrix DeGroen. It is my understanding that my Husband, Martin may have 5 brothers. His adoptive mother is the one who has provided this information. She is in very poor health and is trying to help to the best of her recollection before she passes.
