I am a birth mother seeking to open my end of the adoption records for a closed adoption of a Caucasian Male‚ born September 28‚ 1986‚ at Baldwin County Hospital (now called Oconee Regional Medical Center)‚ Baldwin County‚ Milledgeville‚ GA. The adoption was handled through an organization called Save-A-Life in Macon‚ Georgia. I was 16 years old at the time I gave birth and used an alias name of Diana Rule. I did not know the name of the adoptive parents‚ nor them mine (alias or real). This was a sealed adoption and the adoption records were maintained by the Save-a-Life organization in Macon‚ Georgia. I contacted them a few years ago and they said they only did adoptions for a 5 year period and sadly‚ those records were misplaced during transit to a new location their facility was moved to. The only information about the adoptive parents I have is that they had a very strong Christian background (as I do) and had attempted an adoption 10 years earlier‚ but the birth mother changed her mind at the last minute. I think they were from Macon‚ GA‚ or a surrounding city‚ but not certain. The purpose of my registering is not to invade or upset my child’s life‚ or that of his family‚ or to take away anything that his loving parents have given him (whom I am so thankful for). My sole purpose is to make myself available for him to find me if he chooses to accepting him into my life with open arms and love. I would love to know him and have held him in my heart for so long‚ but only should he desire this also. Again‚ this will be his choice if this is something he wants. I would never upset where he is in his life. I also believe he should have access to family medical history in case the need arises. During the pregnancy I stayed with a Shepherding home arranged through Save-A-Life. The family’s name was Tom and Terez Brown and they lived in Eatonton‚ GA. Such terrific people. I live a very respectable life and a Godly life. I have been married for 22 years and have another son whom I love with everything. My prayer is that the two will know each other one day. Should God choose for this meeting to happen‚ then He will work it out for us. God’s will be done always not mine. God bless.
