I am searching for my birth mother. I was adopted shortly after my birth which was 27 October 1973. I’m told my birth name was Louis Gumtoe. I was adopted by John and Elsmay Barnes in Johannesburg. I am told that the reason for my adoption was my mother being very young at the time of my birth and being of a Catholic family she was not allowed to keep me. It would be a great comfort to know that my mother is alive and well. I would not wish to disrupt her new life and would not insist on a meeting unless she wished to meet me.
