Alfred Watt Hayes was adopted when he was about 5 years old. I do not know what his birth name was. His adopted parents were Edgar Samuel Hayes and Antoinette Orr Hayes (Born Watt). He had a biological brother by the name of Gordan who died at an early age from a motor bike accident. He said he was born on Port Alfred but they do not seem to have any records of his birth or adoption.
