Adult adoptee in search of birth family from Fort Myers, Florida or surrounding communities. I was born on Octobers 23, 1967 at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami Beach, although my birth mother’s primary residence was in Fort Myers, where my five other half siblings were also residents. Their ages in 1967 were 14 (F), 11 & 12 (M), and 7 &8 (F). My birth mother was age 33 & her oldest child, a girl, age 14, had Downs Syndrome. The adoption was arranged by the Children’s Home Society of Broward County, FL, and was finalized in June of 1970. My birth name throughout foster care was Rebecca, but was legally changed to Leslie Ann Allebaugh upon adoption.
