I am searching for my son Tyler. He will be 25 in May. He was adopted from an adoption attorney in Florida but it is my understanding that his last known state of residence was New Jersey. His birth name was Tyler Airick-Roy Johnson. I am unaware if his adopted parents changed his name as he was very young at the time of his adoption. Maybe 9-11 months old. The adoption was closed unfortunately. In the ignorance of my youth‚ I thought I truly understood the terms of the adoption and later I discovered that it was a closed adoption. I did choose his adopted parents‚ and they told me they had every intention of telling him he was adopted as soon as they felt he could handle the news and conversation. Since I have not heard from him at all‚ I assume they never told him or that he took the news badly and has no desire to make contact with me or his birth father. I have been in contact with the adoption attorney’s office several times over the years‚ updating my contact information in case Tyler ever got in touch with them. I have no idea if he is looking for me. And there’s added confusion‚ because I would think if he knew he was adopted‚ the parents would give him the adoption attorney’s information and even my information to try to find me if he wanted to. Just in case he doesn’t have any of the information‚ I’m putting this out there with a hope and a prayer that he may be searching and come across this.
