My mother was from Kenmore, New York and went down to a "home for unwed mothers" in the St. Petersburg, Florida area to have her baby. The baby was given up at birth. I am told that it is possible that it is just as likely the baby was adopted by a family in the Buffalo, New York area as it would be to have been adopted by a family in the St. Petersburg, Florida area? But I don’t know how valid that information is. The baby girl was born on St. Patrick’s Day.
