I was adopted before my birth in Miami Dade County‚ FL. My biological mother was born in a central southern state in the summer of 1941. She was 5’ tall and weighed 98 pounds with blonde hair‚ blue eyes and a fair complexion. She was Baptist‚ had never been married and worked as a secretary. After my birth‚ she moved to a mid Atlantic coast state to live with her mother and stepfather. She signed the consent order on Feb. 1 and carried me from the second floor to the lobby of the hospital and gave me to the attorney’s secretary. I was wrapped in a blanket so she could not see my face. My biological father was 26‚ 6’1" and weighed 185. He had light brown hair‚ blue eyes and a fair complexion. He was also Baptist and had been studying for the ministry but gave it up after divorcing his first wife. He worked at a local funeral home. They were supposed to get married in August of 1960 but he backed out when he learned she was pregnant. The attorney of record was James Rainwater. I want to thank her for making a difficult decision and doing the right thing. I have been blessed with a very loving family.
