After many years I’m more than curious as to family medical history. Would like the chance to talk and find out about possible medical issues that may or may not effect me or my own children. I have very little info. I have a letter from Family Service Centers from 1985. Below is all that is known. "The biological mother was nineteen at the time of this pregnancy and was not married. Apparently she was not from this area and there was mention of her returning home after the baby was born. she was described as "an intelligent, poised, thoughtful" young woman." She never vacillated from her original decision that adoption would best meet the needs of her child. Although a particularly close friend challenged her decision, she was able to tell the girl with conviction, that she felt adoptive parents could offer her baby much more than she. Her parents and family supported her decision and their acceptance, love and understanding during these difficult days made the decision more bearable for her. She is returning home immediately and hopes to get work as quickly as possible. The father was a 24 year old , unmarried man whom she had known for about 3 years. Although she had known him for some time, she knew very little about him and preferred not to involve him in planning for herself or the baby.
