I am primarily seeking information to satisfy my curiosity. I don’t feel a deep need for acquiring more relations or significant sustained contact (though I am not entirely opposed to it should something develop). My adoption was in Orlando, Florida, arranged through The Children’s Home Society of Florida. The adoption was finalized in the Circuit Court for Orange County on or around October 20, 1969. I have a case # for whatever it may be worth in verification, should it come to that. I also have a hand-written number on the adoption placement agreement which may likely be just an internal agency identification but could perhaps refer to the original birth certificate. Based upon suggested DNA matches on 23andMe, the surname that recurs most frequently is "Steadman", though this likely would be a great-grandparent at closest. I do have some written general descriptions of the father (age 22 at the time), mother (age 21 at the time) and maternal grandparents, as well as some broad information about education, occupation and in some cases approximate age at/cause of death of great grandparents.
