My dad was adopted and we are trying to find his biological parents. I have had his DNA tested on Ancestry and Family Tree [Y-DNA and MT-DNA]. He was born 7/25/47 at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami‚ FL. The story I have heard is his bio-parents were starting college at the Univ of Miami and got pregnant and decided to give my dad up for adoption. I had been told that the adoption was planned and the adoptive parents were there the day my dad was born. I have reason to believe this not t be true. It is possible he was adopted by another couple for the first 3 mo of his life. That adoptive father killed himself and it was at that time that the Lee family then adopted my dad and changed his birth name to Robert Edwin Lee. There are no photos prior to 3 mo of age with the Lee family which is why I am tending to believe this story. Adoption was handled by a private attorney named Rutledge‚ who is now deceased.
