Oct. 28‚ 1970. I am not sure if it was after midnight‚ so it may have been recorded as 29th. I was put to sleep as soon as I arrived. I gave birth to a baby at Broward General Hospital in Fort Lauderdale‚ FL. I was not allowed to know the sex of the child being given for adoption. I was 17 and an atty working with a Dr using this hospital handled everything. I was told a wealthy family from East Coast was adopting. As the birth mother‚ I would want the child to be able to contact me should they choose. I was told the child would never know it was adopted. I was in such shock at what was happening to me that I didn’t ask any questions. I just cried the entire time I was in hospital. The day I left‚ a guy from atty’s office brought me a box of candy and gave me a ride to my brother’s home then in Fort Lauderdale. I was told the adoptive parents paid only hospital bill. I received‚ nor asked for any money. This is all the info I can think of at this time.
