My son‚ Aydrian‚ was born 5/17/15 in Sarasota‚FL. I was 15 at the time and in foster care myself. There was an open adoption and visitation agreement created during our mediation prior to his adoption. My caseworker did not allow me my own physical copy of this agreement or allow me to continue to pursue contact with the family after the adoption completed‚ insisting it wasn’t in my interest while I was in a group home. I do not even know the adoptive family’s last name‚ as the caseworker did not disclose it prior to adoption completion. I just remember the mother may have been named Crystal‚ she homeschools her children‚ and her husband was a pilot. Once I turned 18‚ I petitioned the court for a copy of this agreement and was denied until his own 18th birthday. Caseworkers at the SCC still refuse to help me or even give me a copy of my adoption agreement. I have never given up on him. I just want to know he is happy and living the best life possible.
