I know that i was adopted through the Children’s Home Society in Broward County, Florida. I was born at Memorial Hospital, in Hollywood, FL. I have been informed that the hospital did not correctly record my adoption. I know that my birth mother’s maiden name began with the letter B, because my foster name was “Betty”...a practice they use to identify and match mother to baby. I’ve been informed that my birth mother’s birth date was 6-25-1945 and she was 23 years old when she gave birth to me. Interestingly enough, i was the same age and at the same hospital when i gave birth to my first son. She had 2 younger brothers & her mother had her college degree. My birth mother originally planned to solicit adoption at The Children’s Home Society in Dade county, FL, but moved her case to Broward County Children’s Home Society to carry out her shameful situation of being an unwed mother. My foster parents names were Dick and Juanita Wells. I was 6 weeks old when my adoption was final. I’ve been informed that nationality on my birth mother’s side was English, Irish & Polish whereas my biological father was full Italian.
