I am Karsten Herron the biological father of this beautiful biracial little (at the time) girl. Her mother and I were students and members of the band at the university of Alabama. I met her mother in the fall of 1992 and she joined the band in 1993. Her name was Mary Shannon Summers. Even then being in the south interracial relationships were still frowned upon.
