My grandmother, Sadie Willis Branch, was living in Miami, Florida in 1940 when her 18 month old little boy named John Branch was taken from her by the state of Florida. She was unable to pay her child care bill. She was living in a boarding home on 29th Avenue in Miami. She never knew for sure where he was taken. She believed the daughter and son in law of the boarding house owners may have adopted him. They never pursued her for her rent that was due. After moving to Texas she returned to find him, but no amount of money would give her answers. She passed away in 2011. John’s siblings born in 1950 and 1957 would do anything to meet their long lost sibling. My grandmother loved her baby boy until her last moment on earth. Sadie was of Irish decent and her husband looked to be of Italian decent. Baby John had very blonde hair.
