I would like to find my birth parents if possible. I was born on January 6, 1965 at around 7:00 p.m. in Mercy Hospital in Coconut Grove (Miami) Florida. I was placed on January 8, 1965 with my adoptive parents. My birth mother signed the consent for adoption on January 9, 1965. I found out some non-identifying information about my birth parents. My mother was described as being 5’6" tall and 170 pounds with brown hair and big blue eyes. She was born in the Summer of 1937 in a Southern State. She was of the Protestant faith and was of English and Irish descent. She attended a university in a Southern state for one year after graduating high school. I was her first child. My mother had been employed for approximately 8 years as a reservations agent for the airlines. Her parents were divorced and her father was an airline pilot. Her sister who was 24 in 1965 (3 years younger) was also employed as a reservationist with a different airline. My mother also had two half brothers, aged 14 and 15 at the time of my birth. I believe my birth mother resided in Miami at the time and suspect she may have been born and raised in Florida since the info I got says she was born in a Southern state and went to university there. Her ob/gyn was the same doctor who my adoptive mother went to. The attending physician at my birth was Dr. Edwin Bronstein. I was placed with my adoptive family by Drs. Rudnick, Rogers and Bronstein on January 8, 1965. My adoptive mother and father had tried to get pregnant and I believe she went to that doctor for fertility treatment. The information about my birth father was that he and his family resided in Venezuela, and were of Italian descent. I have learned that he is actually of Syrian or Turkish descent after obtaining my DNA results. I believe perhaps my mother thought he was Italian or maybe that’s what he told her. He was 25 years old when I was born, so I am estimating he was born in 1939 or 1940. Both my birth mother and father were unmarried at the time of my birth. He may have had one brother and my mother said she thought he had completed high school and probably some higher education. It was also stated that my paternal great-grandmother suffered from diabetes. I don’t have any more information about my father. I suspect he may not have known about me because there is no mention of him signing a consent form. From 23 and Me, it seems that there area large number of DNA relatives who match me with the surname Albarazi and I believe they are from my father’s side. I was formally adopted on May 20, 1965 in Miami, Dade County, Florida. Presiding Judge Thomas E. Lee, Jr. and attorney of record was Sidney Steinberg who had an office on Bird Road in South Miami. I’d like to find my parents if they are still alive so I can know more about my heritage and also so they can know I had a good and happy life. Even if my parents are not alive, I am hoping to connect with some family members so I can know more about them.
