My 4th cousin’s name is D. He was called Stephen in temporary foster care for a few days‚ as he was given up for adoption through Catholic Charities. D was born on December 4th‚ 1964‚ at Holy Cross Hospital‚ in Fort Lauderdale‚ Florida. Through 23andme testing‚ D found half siblings and has met with three of them. His bio father’s name was Stephen Harris. Stephen was originally from Maryville‚ Tennessee. Stephen worked in the building trades in and around Fort Myers‚ Florida. Stephen was married and had a son when D’s bio mom got pregnant with D. My cousin D learned that his bio mother likely worked at McCrory’s Restaurant in Fort Myers as a waitress when she got pregnant with D. Information provided by Catholic Charities is pretty vague. Bio mom was herself adopted and reported as being the youngest of six children of her parents. Bio mom was reported as being born 1939 in Ohio and of the Catholic faith. In 1964 she was said to be 5’4 1/2" and 140 pounds with medium brown hair and hazel eyes. She was reported as having completed two years of high school. The records state she had a son in 1957 who contracted polio at 15 months but fully recovered. He was said to have dark brown hair and brown eyes. She had a daughter in 1960 and there are no descriptives about her or a third child‚ a son born in 1963. There is some information about the bio mother’s adoptive parents.
