Our first contact was through HUG in Lakeland, Florida. The adoption was handled through the office of attorney James Welch in Lakeland. His secretary, Nadine, was the wonderful person with whom we had the most contact. He was born at Lakeland Regional and was delivered to us by Mr. Welch, his wife and Nadine on Sat., June 2, 1984. When we began our search for his birth mother, Mr Welch, Nadine and the case worker all had Alzheimer’s. Mr. Welch’s office informed us that all of their adoption records had been destroyed. We are so grateful to that brave woman who carried our baby and then graciously gave us the greatest gift of our lives. Now we would like to give him the gift of finding his birth mother. He has children of his own now and is naturally curious about any health issues that might affect him or his children.
