Hello‚ I’m going to list the information that I think would be helpful so that it’s not in a confusing paragraph form. - my mom’s name is Wendy Pelley‚ she was 45 years old when she passed away in 2016. She passed away due to throat cancer that went unchecked as she was fighting another type of cancer. - my mom has lived in Indiana‚ Florida‚ and Michigan. She was born and raised in Michigan. She then moved to Indiana and then Florida. - It is technically possible that she might’ve met my dad in Indiana‚ however due to the dates being just a little earlier than when I was born (by years)‚ I think that he’s from Florida. - I know my dad is alive and I know the adoption center knows who he is and that they won’t tell me because it’s a close adoption. That being said if he does not want contact‚ I do not want contact. I simply want a name to put in my family tree so that I’m able to find my enslaved ancestors. - as I mentioned above with enslaved ancestors‚ I am mixed. My mother is white‚ which means my dad is either mixed or black. Considering my percentage of African‚ I would assume he was fully black or at least 80% to 90%. - I THINK (this is not set in stone) that his first name is Terry. Could be short for Terrence‚ a popular/common black name. Its the only name I’ve heard used in reference to who he could possibly be. - he’s probably married‚ but he might have also been married when I was born based on what i’ve heard. Could explain not wanting to talk to me. - i was adopted at 3 days old. - I’ve tried my heritage‚ ancestry‚ and I’m debating trying 23andme‚ but haven’t found anyone that’s not on my mom’s side so far. If I have messaged anyone on my dad‘s side‚ they haven’t messaged back. Everyone I’ve talked to is connected to my mom.
