I was born on 10/31/1973, in Homestead, FL (or perhaps the Miami area) and placed under the care of the Children’s Home Society for adoption. Due to adoptions being closed in the 1970s, I have limited information (my birth certificate lists my adoptive parents). What I do know is that my birth mother was 18 when I was born and did not name the birth father. The only health information provided was that I have a maternal uncle who was 17 at the time of my birth who had muscular dystrophy (diagnosed at age 3) and that my maternal grandfather died at the age of 31 of a kidney problem.
