The only information I have is on my birth certificate made out to my adopted family. Birthplace‚ Great Bentley‚ Essex‚ England. Date of birth as above. I was told by my adopted parents that I was illegitimate‚ and that I was adopted when I was three weeks old. At that time‚ and up until 1976(?) when the law changed‚ the birth mothers who had their babies taken away to be adopted were reassured that no-one would come looking for them later in life. If it helps when investigating the archives‚ my adopted parents' names were Sydney and Joan Heward.
