My mother gave birth to a baby girl approximately 50 years ago at Columbia Hospital for women in Washington DC, which is no longer there. Birth records were archived and sealed. My parents are deceased, as is the doctor that delivered the baby. Everything was kept secret from my family because my mother was 47 or 48 years old, and was terribly embarrassed to have a change of life baby.
