My birth name was Helen Porter and I was born in Kendal. My mother’should name was Sandra Helen and she was 23 when she gave birth to me. My father was a marine commando and was 21 and was posted overseas around the time of my birth (I think). I believe my mother was a teacher at the time and was teaching in Birmingham. Sandra’s father was a retired police constable and her mother a teacher. She had a brother and two sisters.
