My great grandfather had a sister named Isabelle Mcdonald who spend time in a convent in Denver in 1900. The family was devout catholic. A few years later‚ records show she had married in Utah where the rest of her family was living. There is no proof she had a child in this convent but there is no other explanation for her time there. She only has one child that came from this marriage and no one knows anything about her time in Colorado. I would like to find out if there was a child born and this child died or was adopted. Here are my notes: The US 1900 census has someone named Isabella Mcdonald on the record in "Convent of the Good Shepherd" in Colorado. Census gives her DOB as Oct 1879. States she was born in Kansas and both parents were born in Scotland. The Isabelle in this family was not recorded with the family in Utah in 1900. "The Good Shepherd Convent in Denver‚ Colorado has a rich history. Originally known as St. John the Evangelist Church‚ it was later consolidated with St. Philomena's. The convent has served as a Catholic religious order‚ an orphanage‚ and a reform school for delinquent or pregnant girls. Currently‚ Good Shepherd Catholic Parish continues to serve the Congress Park neighborhood"
