I am seeking my birthdaughter . She was born 08/07/1991 in Boulder Colorado. Her given name is Samantha Brianna Rodriguez. I was 16 1/2 when I was living in a motel and advised by an advocate to sign myself into foster care and my daughter and I would have a safe stable environment while I worked full time and so that I could attend school full time also. And Sammie could stay with foster parents while I did so. At the time I was legally married to Sammie's father . But was incarcerated at time. . I had been able to save the money to rent an appt with a school friend Nikki and her baby . So I went back to the foster home that being and the next day I took out belongs and took Sammie to the baby sisters and I went to school later that afternoon they local police dept came to the school stating they were going to arrest me for kidnapping if I didnt take them to hwhere Sammie was at . They just kept saying that I was was being detained and they needed to find her. I took them to the sitters . Well come to find out that when I signed myself into foster care I was never told that Samantha became a Ward of the State and I couldn't just take her back into my own custody. I had no clue and noone ever told me . They just said when I could afford to move out that I could. . their was never a court date . I met with the advocate and they took us the the foster home . After that day I was about to be arrested then I was taken to court . It was so confusing and I couldn't jump high enough to work their plan. I was only aloud to apply for medical asst since birth I was allowed to apply for any other assistance . I had to work a full time job and go to school full time. I was sanctioned 4 months of no visitation cause with Drew to part time at school and the state said I couldn't do that it was against my case plan . It was a year and 1)2 of getting in trouble for not being able to maintain full time job and high school especially when I had an IEP since the 6th grade m they said that's no excuse . So reluctantly in 1993 I was left with no other options m I moved to Arizona to stay with my parents and couldn't take her with me . I agreed to the adoption because I thought I was giving her a better chance at life then I could give her at the time . In May of 1999 I revived a call whom I was told and assumed was Samantha's adopted mother Brenda Colbey ( Colby) stating that Sammie had bén in a car wreck and wasnon life support the prognosis was grim. I immediately called my parents and my mom and dad were going to get me and her younger brother a plane ticket to get to boulder . I called the number back and was told they didn't want me at the hospital . But felt I should know . I called the hospital and of course I wasn't able to get information until the morning and the nurse thought I was brenda she assumed I never told em when I asked about Sammie and said that she died that she thought I knew and was their at the hospital I told the lady who I actually was . I can not find any records of her death and I've been dealing with my grandsons death the past few years . I think I've had one behind his death not to deal with hers or the not knowing . I would like to try and find her or at least to know if she's passed or alive .
