My - our - mom passed away nine years ago‚ but her twin sister recently shared that mom had been in a relationship during studies‚ gotten pregnant‚ and had given birth to a little girl in Denver‚ Colorado in 1965. Her mom had traveled to Denver to help with the birth and‚ I’d assume‚ encourage the adoption. I came along from a third marriage eight years later - and mom kept this a secret all her life‚ i assume avoiding her difficult choice made so young. I’m nearly 50‚ learning for the first time a have a half-sister who’d be 58-59 this year. Don’t want to second guess mom - but this filled in a LOT of blanks for me‚ explained some sensitive moments otherwise inexplicable‚ so if i can help close these loops for someone else - it’s worth getting in touch. Plus your mom was MUCH loved‚ a wonderful teacher in a small town in California‚ so perhaps I can share stories.
