I am looking for my Maternal grandmother who gave up my mother for adoption in 1946. My mothers name was Sally May Snyder Stoakes. Unfortunately she was killed in an automobile accident on October 18, 1966. My mother’s adopted parents names were Paul W Snyder and Marjorie L Snyder. My grandfather was a pharmacist and my grandmother was a school teacher. There was an infant birth card from a hospital in my Grandmother’s things that had the sir name "Anderson" on it but she never told me if it belonged to my mother. Sally’s birthday was June 5, 1946. I have photos of her as a child as well as home movies taken when she was very young. My grandparents named her Sally May after parental grandmother Laura May Vincent. She had a genius I.Q. and could read and recite nursery rhymes by the age of 2 and a half. She had medium brown hair with big eyes and was 5’9". I have her eyes and build. Since my original post I have had my DNA run through AncestryDNA. Maternal Matches were returned connecting me to Sally’s half-sister. Unfortunately she was also adopted in FL and all records were destroyed. A closer match (another aunt) came back but has not responded to any communication. Tracing back through second cousin DNA results show a direct link to my Paternal Great Grandmother Laura May Vincent Snyder. DNA matches scatter all over the Southern states of Louisiana, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Florida. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.
