I was born at St Anne’s compound in LA‚ CA‚ to an unwed teenager who gave ownership and custody to St Anne’s Adoption Agency in exchange for room and board at the group home for unwed mothers. I was taken from the orphanage nursery at 6 mo. Of age and then adopted 1 yr later to a couple that had lost their 4 yr old to Lukemia‚ and a son born with mental retardation. I was always aware that these people were not my family and was treated like a red headed step child by the extended family. It would be empowering to find my biological relatives and know something of my history.
