The name on my final adoption says my birth name was Cheryl Denise Patterson. My adoption was finalized in 1956. Mrs. Laura Elsey was the social worker on my case. The adoption was between two counties. The county of San Francisco‚ where birth mom was and Tulomne county‚ where adoptive parents lived. I was born in San Francisco CA on 8/8/1955 at 3:31am. I was 9lbs 1oz‚ with strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes. My birth mother is described as a fair blue eyed‚ strawberry blonde‚ 19 years of age‚ with an 8th grade education. Her mother were born in Michigan. Birth mother was one of nine children‚ one adopted out by bgma. My mother’s name was Scheryll Ruth Watson‚ daughter of Ruth Leola Gibson Watson. Bgma was married three times. Her oldest daughter was Beverly. She divorced first husband John Watson‚ she then married Rodger Clarence Smith Sr‚ he died‚ so she then married William Dewerd Main. Bgma had four children with Watson‚ two with Rodger‚ two with William. My birth father promised to marry bmom but he didn’t follow through. It broke her heart. I have one maternal sister approx 11 months older than me‚ described as 1/2 sister. She and I were both relinquished for adoption on November 10th 1955. Birth mother would have kept us both if Bdad would have married her as promised.. I would love to find maternal sister. There is little info on birth father‚ the record reflects little info regarding him‚ only that he was in the armed services and that he was "tall" with blue eyes. I may have found probable birth father with the help of DNA. His daughter matches me as 1/2 sister. Her father is 82 and I haven’t been able to get him to do DNA yet. Not positive on this yet‚ waiting for him to decide to test. He recently refused to do DNA. Hoping someone recognizes the story of my birth mother and contacts me. I need medical info from birth mom’s family. If anyone has any info contact me. Thank you. **Update**Birth father passed last month. Without taking a dna test. My very experienced search angel said there is no way that he wasn’t my bfather. I match everyone in that family that has done dna. 1/2 sister still won’t acknowledge me. We do say hi on holidays though. Bfathers name was Thomas L Thompson. I’m still searching for my birth sister. Eleven months older than me‚ so born late August to late September ‚ just to be safe. We were put up for adoption on November 10‚ 1955. I also found first cousins on bmom aside. We have been in touch. There were a lot of adoptions in my bmoms side. We found each other via dna. **Update** Finally found a photo of bmom. It was from her high school year book sophomore year!! So‚ she had more than an 8th grade education.**I can find no photos of bmom. I’d love to have at least one)I would mean a lot to me to discover my birth sister. I grew up as an only child. A possible name for my maternal sister is Terry Beth Wright. I think it was probably changed though. Birth sister if you’re out there‚ I’m waiting to find you! Through this site I was found by my brother’s widow and daughter. I had no idea I had a brother! His name was Roy Dailey‚ he passed away. But now I have a niece and his wife Theresa! Still looking for you sister and any other siblings that might come to light.
